Newark Hockey Academy is the junior section of Newark Hockey Club. Our coaching sessions are held on Sunday mornings at The Magnus School from the start of September to the end of April.

Our aim is – More. Better. Happier. Young hockey players.

More: Many of our new members hear about us from existing young players and we welcome new players of all abilities aged between 5 and 15 years. We also organise and run the Newark Primary School hockey league and the Sam White hockey tournament. The league and tournament offers hundreds of local children the opportunity to participate in competitive hockey.

Better: We have a team of qualified and enthusiastic volunteer coaches who have a wealth of experience working with young players of all abilities. We ensure our players gain good basic skills and then nurture their potential and understanding of the sport. We arrange regular hockey fixtures across all our age groups to build game-play experience. There is a well-managed transition between junior hockey and senior hockey so that young players can develop at their own pace. We communicate with our players parents keeping them involved in their child’s hockey development.

Happier: We pride ourselves in nurturing a positive atmosphere to ensure hockey is fun and enjoyed by all our young players whatever their ability. We all love hockey and want the players we coach to love hockey too! All our coaches and volunteers have undertaken England Hockey Safeguarding training and DBS checks as required.
