Newark Hockey Club was all sunshine as each team recorded a win despite Autumnal weather and constant rain.
Ladies 3s
The Ladies 3s started the day winning 6-1 against Bourne Deeping in a well worked team effort. Zoe White and Ann Crockett-McLean each scored a brace, with Sophie Chambers and Louise Goodman contributing to the goal fest.
Ladies 4s
The Ladies 4s won 5-0 with Sophie Chambers adding a hat trick to her earlier goals. Chloe Sloan worked well down the right and was rewarded with a goal for her efforts. Hannah Laughton scorIng the final goal.
Ladies 1s & 2s
The Ladies 1s and 2s travelled to Leicester for back to back games. The 2nds won 3-1 having initially gone behind from an early counter attack by the home side. The 1sts followed with a 2-1 win, soaking up lots of quick counter attacking (clearly a Leicester trait) and strong marking in the home side's circle. A good work out for both Newark teams against good opposition.
Mens 2s
Meanwhile the Mens 2nd XI won 6-0 at home versus local rivals Mansfield HC. Nigel Bett scored 4 goals with Adam Holland and captain Simon Higgs getting in on the action too.
Mens 3s
The Mens 3rd XI playing at the same time but away at Mansfield won 4-1. Dave Fellows, Tom Roper, Seb Hufton and Cam Roberts getting the goals.
All in all, a good day for Newark!
