Men’s 1s v North Notts
Newark we went into the game with a positive attitude following a productive training session on Tuesday. However, things did not go to plan as Newark conceded an early. Newark didn’t let this get the better of them and following a great pass from Benjamin A to the forwards, Kian Hunter scored to bring the game to 1-1 at half time.
Newark instantly put pressure on North Notts from the first whilst of the second half, gaining possession and leaving Simon Higgs free at the top of the D to put Newark in the lead with a fantastic shot on goal. Newark continued to keep possession and attacked the ball well as a team soon leading to three more goals for Ryan P, Harry B and another for Simon Higgs. Newark came away with the win, final score 5-1.
Man of the match - Benjamin A
Men’s 2 v Beeston 7s
After last week's strong performance, and with the rain lashing down, Newark started confidently, putting Beeston under constant pressure and passing well, creating a few chances. However, Beeston began to get a foothold in the game as the skies cleared and the pitch dried out. A green card for Seb Hufton was upgraded to a yellow for (allegedly) swearing at the umpire (He didn't!) and Beeston took their chance a player up, moving the ball well to score twice.
Newark struggled to settle when back up to full strength, and a facial injury to a Newark player put them down to 11 players. Beeston took advantage as Newark tried to restructure to score again. The second half was more in favour of Beeston who looked sharper in possession and began pushing Newark back. Newark fought hard and kept working but Beeston counter attacked effectively to score twice in the second half.
Final score 0-4.

Ladies 1s v SBUs
In a game the ladies 1s would rather forget, the home side lost 3-0 to SBUs. SBUs were lucky with their first goal after a foot on the goal line from the Newark defence, a second goal shortly followed from a slick short corner.
SBU sealed the win with a run down the right hand side of the pitch and a cross into the D.
Final score 0-3

Ladies 2s v Players
This week the Ladies 2s faced Players 1s, with a shuffle round of players it took a while for Newark to settle into the game. With that said, Newark had the majority of possession in the first half but two quick successive breaks by Players saw them 2-0 up by half time.
After a team talk from coach Laura after half time, Newark stepped back onto the pitch meaning business! Lovely work in the middle from Amy Crouch, Susan Tate, Zara L and Rosie. A couple of lead runs from Zoe White provided opportunities on goal. Sadly, even though Newark had the plenty of opportunities they just couldn’t convert them into goals.
Final score 2-0 to Players.

Ladies 3s v SBUs
Great team play from all players on the pitch; communication was strong. Newark got off to a great start with a goal from a pair link up between Imogen and Georgia S. With Georgia slipping the ball calmly past the keeper.
As the second half went on tensions were running high as some umpiring decisions were not going Newark’s way. After many short corners, and some great defending from Newark, SBU took advantage of their pace on the wings and with some great passing play scored a goal. To end the game 1-1.
Ladies 4s V Boots 6.
Thank you for the team for turn out for the late start, especially to those who doubled from the 9am match. A gritty match with missed opportunities.
